Cranioplasty is the surgical repair of a deficiency or deformity of the skull. All materials and application techniques for cranioplasty are critiqued. The most frequently used material for reconstruction is poly-methyl methacrylate. None of the materials surgically indicated for cranioplasty are wholly suitable.
